1. Introduction

Denarii is a cryptocurrency market tracking app that provides real-time price data, watchlists, market news, and optional AI-powered analysis. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data-protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). This policy applies to all users of the Denarii app worldwide.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information: email address and password when you register with email, or your name and email when you use Sign in with Apple. If you use Apple’s private-relay email, we only receive the relay address.
• Support communications: messages you send us at support@denarii.app or privacy@denarii.app.

Information collected automatically

• Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone.
• Usage data: app screens viewed, features used, and interaction events (via Firebase Analytics, subject to consent in the EEA/UK).
• Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs (via Sentry).
• Preferences: selected fiat currency, theme, language, and watchlists. Watchlists are stored primarily on your device and, if signed in, synced to your account.
• Purchase history: subscription status for Denarii Pro, provided by Apple and RevenueCat. We never receive your payment card or Apple ID password.

Information we do NOT collect

• Bank account credentials or payment card numbers
• Cryptocurrency wallet keys, seed phrases, or private keys
• On-chain trading history or exchange account credentials
• Contact lists or address book data
• Precise (GPS) location data
• Health, biometric, or sensitive personal data

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and authenticate your account
• To provide core app functionality (market data, watchlists, alerts, AI analysis)
• To process and manage Denarii Pro subscriptions
• To send transactional and price-alert notifications you opt in to
• To respond to support requests
• To improve the app, diagnose issues, and prevent abuse
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

• Contract: to provide the Service you signed up for and to manage subscriptions.
• Legitimate interests: to secure the app, prevent fraud, and improve features.
• Consent: for optional analytics and push notifications where required by law. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app settings or your device settings.
• Legal obligation: to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

5. Third-Party Services We Share Data With

We share only the minimum data necessary. Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms:

• Firebase Authentication & Firestore (Google): account authentication and secure storage of account data and synced preferences.
• Sign in with Apple: optional authentication provider.
• Firebase Analytics (Google): aggregate usage analytics. Disabled by default in the EEA/UK unless you consent.
• Sentry: crash and error reporting to help us fix bugs.
• RevenueCat: subscription management and entitlement checks for Denarii Pro.
• Apple App Store: processes all payments and subscription billing. We do not receive your payment details.
• CoinGecko: market price, volume, and metadata for cryptocurrencies.
• CoinDesk: cryptocurrency news content.
• AI analysis provider: generates AI coin analysis when you request it in the app (Pro feature). We send the coin symbol and public market context; we do not send personal account information.
• Expo Push Notifications: delivers price alerts and other notifications to your device.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers for cross-app tracking.

6. Data Storage & Security

Account data is stored on Google Firebase servers, primarily in the United States. Local preferences and watchlists are stored on your device using encrypted storage provided by iOS. We use TLS/HTTPS for data in transit and follow industry-standard practices to protect data at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account in the app), we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations. Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics may be retained longer.

8. Your Rights

9. Children’s Privacy

Denarii is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact privacy@denarii.app and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

If you use Denarii from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date and, if changes are material, provide additional notice in the app. Continued use of Denarii after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
